DSS-NSC Certificate Of Competence Courses

Introduction

DSS, in collaboration with the National Skin Centre (NSC), offers Certificate of Competence (COC) Courses in Aesthetic Procedures. These have been designed specifically to help doctors gain confidence & competence in the performance of minimally invasive aesthetic dermatological procedures. The courses cover both the essential theory & clinically relevant practical aspects of the procedures.

Doctors who wish to perform aesthetic procedures in Singapore and who do not meet requisite criteria as set by SMC may register for our courses.

Method of Instruction

The courses are held in a classroom setting during a Saturday afternoon. Workshop objectives are achieved via:

  1. Lectures supplemented with live or video demonstration sessions
  2. Emphasis on basic competency, safety and FDA-approved indications
  3. Question and answer sessions in a neutral and conducive environment
  4. Written assessment at the end to ensure that participants have assimilated the important take-home messages

Trainers

Courses are planned and conducted by dermatologists experienced in the practice of aesthetic procedures from both the public and private sectors.

Accreditation

The COC courses are accredited by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Aesthetic Practice Oversight Committee.
